Orthodox Rope Bracelets

There are many different types of Rope Bracelets, Our focus going to be on Religious knotted Bracelets with a Cross or Crucifix woven into them. The Rope Bracelets we offer are of Christian Orthodox origin and are called Prayer Ropes. These Rope Bracelets have 33 knots and are handwoven in Orthodox Monastery’s. What makes these bracelets so special is that the person who tied the knots has recited a Prayer for every knot in the bracelet.

The handmade Prayer Bracelets (Rope Bracelets) in our collection have metallic crosses woven into them. Some of the crosses have a silhouette of the “Virgin Mary” and others are traditional Christian or Orthodox Crucifixes. In Greece these rope bracelets are called Komboskini, in Russia Chotki and in the Balkans Brojanica.

These rope bracelets have become very popular and are worn by a lot of people. Traditionally these bracelets came in just one color “black” but nowadays you will find them in many different colors and color combinations.
