Myrrh Incense – Commiphora wildii, an endemic species that predominate among the species of Burseraceae present in Namibia, grows on rocky slopes between 600 and 1000m., in the northern regions.
The tree has an average height of about 2 meters but extends almost 8 meters horizontally. In the dry season, around November, the resin is abundantly excreted from the tree and is dried by air in a few weeks
This Namibian Myrrh reminds of frankincense from Oman with its lemony scent.
It is said that the scent of this Myrrh has relaxing properties.
