Having joy in the lord

Having Joy in the Lord is Our Strength

How can we have joy every day in our lives? It could be our most precious experience. Some of you are maybe thinking at this very moment: “You’re talking to me about joy??? I am so depressed and discouraged! In what way can I have joy?!!!”

Well, the Word of God tells us that the joy in Him is our strength. No matter what we may be going through, He has promised that while we are filled with His joy, we will be able to resist all evil.

What does “joy” mean? Webster’s Dictionary gives the following definitions of the concept:

  •  The emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires.
  • The expression or exhibition of such emotion.
  • A state of happiness or felicity.
  • A source or cause of delight .

Having Joy in the Lord

Joy in the Lord As if there is not any negative manifestation that is related to this concept. We could think of every real Christian living on our planet. Real Christians are always happy. They know who they belong to. They have some troubles, obstacles and setbacks. But the joy in the Lord is their strength. They know the secret of resting in Him. You could be in a great trouble and still you could rest in the Lord. Why? The reason is that the whole of you is focused on Him. We should be like that all the time.

Probably you’re wondering how you could be always filled with joy. It is so simple: His Word tells us so:

“But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem for rejoicing and her people for gladness.”

(Isaiah 65:18)

Have you felt His loving hand caressing you in times of trouble? Have you experienced His kindness and love? Usually He gives pieces of them when we are afflicted and oppressed. That’s the time when He works the most. As if nothing has remained to make you satisfied and complete. So here He comes! God is the only one who would make you satisfied and complete. Very often people think that some person, some circumstance or some event would make them happy, or in the future something good would happen to them. But His Word is accurate and definite, concerning our everyday life and needs. What is that well-being, that success and fortune that the dictionary defines? It is related to what God has done for us in life-His salvation, His presence in our lives, His peace and the satisfaction they bring to us. All of them make believers smile, even if circumstances are not so good. If you do not rejoice most of your time, then there is some shaking  taking place in your life. In a time like this you show “you are slack in the day of distress”, and therefore, you will be weak in your walk with God. So it would be better if you rejoice always like Paul the Apostle says in I. Thessalonians 5:16-18:

“Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. To help you keep count and focus during prayer use a Chotki prayer rope”

Obviously this includes any sphere in our Christian walking. Since you are a Christian, you must not stop walking with faith and trust in God’s favor. This is what a life filled with joy is all about. You are among His beloved children, right? So why do you let your enemy jump over you? You are not different from your brothers and sisters who live in prosperity. Your Heavenly Father loves you so much! If Jesus had to die for you alone, He would do it believe me! For His love is equal toward every living person, not only believers. So trust Him! Walk with Him! Rejoice in Him! He will never leave you nor forsake you.
