Brojanica and Brojanice
There haven’t been a lot of sources that offer authentic and blessed prayer rope online. And we thought it was time to make it simple for our Orthodox brothers from the Balkans. Why Balkans? you ask. Well brojanica and brojanice is how people from Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Macedonia call the Orthodox prayer rope. They would normally get their knotted bracelets and necklaces from their local Orthodox Church, but when you live abroad and do not have an Orthodox Church in your town or city it becomes a bit hard to get by them. So for all those who have been searching in vein, good news, we ship worldwide.
An important thing to mention is that our bracelets and necklaces are handmade in Orthodox Churches and are indeed purified. This makes 33Knots one of the few online stores that offer authentic prayer rope. Our product portfolio consist of bracelets, necklaces and keychains. We offer them in a variety of colors and with a variety of divider beads. Every now and then we introduce new colors and new versions of these products. One of our recent introductions was the “rosary like” prayer necklace. Basically this is an Orthodox prayer rope that is knotted in a way that it resembles a rosary necklace. This is a bit confusing because it is still a prayer necklace made in an Orthodox Church but because of its longer length it looks like a rosary. Also we offer the traditional 300 knot prayer necklace, this is a necklace that is mostly used by monks but due to recurring request from our customers we have included them too.
If you are wondering how its called in other Orthodox countries, here are some examples. In Greece it is called a komboskini, in Russia a chotki and in Romania a Mătănii. Hope you’ll find this information useful, feel free to browse through our store and if you have any questions feel free to contact us through our contact page.
